Motivation and Experiences of Wim Hof Method Practitioners

WHY I ENJOYED THIS VIDEO

So to start, as a clinician I’ve been doing and recommending the Wim Hof Method for several years now. If you don’t know what the Wim Hof method is or why I recommend it to my clients, you can read a short blog I wrote about it here. The video itself is a simple anecdotal study based on a survey that was taken by over 3,000 people, and it talks about what benefits people have experienced by doing the Wim Hof Method.

WHAT IMPACT DOES THIS HAVE ON OUR LIFE?

I love the fact that my personal testimony mirrors much of what was discovered in the study. Better yet, If you were to go to the actual Wim Hof website, it lists many of the benefits of doing the method and the study echoes sooo much of that. There are physiological  benefits, cognitive benefits, and even if you are not trying “fix” an ailing problem, the overall health benefits cannot be understated.

Some of the specific conditions identified in the study where people have seen improvement are in the areas of stress, fatigue, and anxiety. According to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders affect 40 million people over the age of 18 in the United States, but only about 37% of them seek treatment. 60% to 80% of primary care doctor visits are related to stress, but only 3% of them get help to help manage their symptoms.

  • The first thing I can share is that if you are one of those people suffering from physical or mental health issues, seek help. We have you covered in the stress and mental health department. Just give our intake coordinator a call.
  • If you are looking for the missing link in your already great self-care routine, the Wim Hof method may be your next stop, because it exercises both of these areas through each of the three pillars.
  • The over all benefit of the Wim Hof Method in the end can only be experienced. If you are willing to “do something” (vs. nothing) that is simple and can have lasting affects without medication, try it!
